Roof Repair Services

Leaks and Coverings

The covering itself — what is on the roof and what has stopped doing its job.

Ridges, Hips, Valleys and Verges

The lines and edges of a roof, which is where exposure does its work and where most roofs fail first.

Leadwork and Chimneys

The junctions where the roof meets something else. More leaks start here than in the covering.

Flat Roofs

Extensions, garages, dormers and bays — felt, rubber and fibreglass, each of which fails in its own way.

Storm, Emergency and Upkeep

Work that will not wait, and the routine attention that prevents most of it.

Why the Town Pages Are Not All the Same

Roofs in South Wales are not one thing. A Rhondda terrace under original Welsh slate on softwood battens, a Porthcawl sea front taking the full Atlantic wind, a Cwmbran estate roofed all at once in concrete tile in the 1960s and a Penarth conservation-area villa with decorative leadwork are four completely different roofing propositions.

So each town page says what is actually on the roofs there, what the weather does to it and how hard the roof is to get to — and each repair page reads those same facts through the one fault it is about. Salt-laden wind means something quite different to a lead flashing than it does to a fibreglass roof.

Areas We Cover

Fifteen towns, each with its own roof repairs page and 25 specialist repair pages beneath it.

Roof Repairs in AberdareThe rainfall is relentless, so a small defect is found by water within weeks rather than seasons.
Roof Repairs in BarrySalt-laden coastal wind corrodes fixings and finds any loose edge before anything inland would.
Roof Repairs in BridgendThree different eras of roof covering sit side by side, and each one fails in its own way.
Roof Repairs in CaerphillyThe same street can be sheltered at one end and fully exposed at the other, depending how far up the side it runs.
Roof Repairs in CardiffShared stacks and continuous valleys mean a defect on one roof is frequently somebody else's problem to fix.
Roof Repairs in CwmbranThe roofs are all the same age, so problems arrive street by street rather than house by house.
Roof Repairs in MaestegThe long unbroken terrace ridges take the full run of the wind, and the ridge line is where it shows.
Roof Repairs in NeathThe sheer volume of rainfall means drainage details matter here more than the covering does.
Roof Repairs in PenarthThe roofs are architecturally detailed and often protected, so matching what is there matters as much as making it watertight.
Roof Repairs in PontypriddThe ground falls away so sharply that access, not the repair, is usually what sets the price.
Roof Repairs in Port TalbotThe combination of salt air and industrial atmosphere is harder on metal fixings and flashings than anywhere else on the list.
Roof Repairs in PorthcawlThere is nothing between the roof and the sea, so wind uplift at the edges and verges is the recurring failure.
Roof Repairs in St. MellonsThe housing is a uniform age and type, so the same handful of failures turn up repeatedly across whole streets.
Roof Repairs in SwanseaThe roof stock is so varied that identifying what the covering actually is comes before anything else.
Roof Repairs in TonypandyThe terraces are continuous, so work on one roof means working against two neighbours' at the same time.

Where We Are

Roof Repairs Across South Wales — Common Questions

Which areas do you cover?

The fifteen towns listed above and the areas around them, from Swansea and Port Talbot in the west across to Cardiff, Penarth and St. Mellons, and up through the valleys.

Do you do small repairs or only large jobs?

Small repairs are most of what we do. A slipped tile, three loose ridge tiles, a split flashing — dealt with early, those are what stop a roof becoming a replacement.

Can you tell me the cost over the phone?

We can tell you what drives it. The figure needs somebody to look, because the extent of a defect and the access to it are what set the price, and neither is visible from a description.

Do you carry out emergency work?

Yes. The first visit makes the roof safe and stops the water coming in; the permanent repair follows once the weather allows it.

Will you tell me if a repair is not worth doing?

Yes. If a roof is close to needing re-covering we would rather say so than take the money for a patch that buys a season.

Do you work on flat roofs as well as pitched?

Yes — felt, EPDM rubber and GRP fibreglass, on extensions, garages, dormers and bays.
